Bread Pudding

American bread pudding! After trying this in Florida I’ve been working on finding the perfect recipe and here it is! Again… not low in points but… Let’s have a treat!

Bread pudding


  • 1185ml milk
  • 300g sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 4 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 300g french bread
  • 112g butter


  1. Preheat the oven at 180
  2. Cut the bread in small pieces and place it in the oven so it gets dry.
  3. Heat the milk at medium heat but do not let it boil. Add the butter and stir until it’s melted. Take off the heat and let it cool down.
  4. Beat the eggs and mix the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.
  5. Add the mix to the milk and stir.
  6. Put the bread in a oven proof dish. Add the mixture and let it settle for 5 min. Press the bread into the mix with a spoon and bake for 40-50 min.
  7. You can add some chocolate chips. It’s yummy! But that it’s optional.
  8. Before taking it out, check with a knife whether it’s cooked.
